National park Nockalm
The gentle, rounded contours of crystalline rock, the “Nocken” gave the oldest mountain region in Austria its name. This countryside boasts an abundant variety; the forests and high mountain pastures have been farmed and tenderly cared for generations, still keeping their original form. Adorned with the natural gems of the fauna and flora, the unspoilt alpine countryside and the man-made landscape of the Nock Mountains , certainly make this area unique.
Along the carefully planned routes of the Nockalm Road there are many information centres, museums, and an extensive guided tour programme is offered by the National Park Management Team giving all friends of nature incomparable opportunities.
